Overview
Our vascular sessions provide interactive learning focused on the performance and technical evaluation of vascular ultrasound studies within their clinical context. Participants will review imaging approaches, discuss case-based examples, and explore current best practices to support accurate data acquisition and reporting. Emphasis is placed on consistency in scanning technique, protocol adherence, workflow efficiency, and collaboration among care team members to enhance overall quality within the vascular laboratory and support optimal patient care.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Apply standardized vascular ultrasound protocols in alignment with Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) standards to ensure diagnostic accuracy and consistency
  2. Differentiate normal and abnormal hemodynamic findings in arterial and venous duplex imaging using evidence based duplex criteria
  3. Identify common technical and interpretive errors in vascular ultrasound and implement strategies to avoid them
  4. Optimize image acquisition techniques to enhance study quality and reproducibility
  5. Integrate evidence based diagnostic criteria into daily vascular lab practice
  6. Evaluate vascular laboratory processes to identify opportunities for quality improvement, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance
  7. Coordinate daily clinic workflow and patient throughput to support efficient scheduling, minimize delays and improve patient experience
  8. Correlate vascular ultrasound findings with vascular surgical indications and postoperative surveillance to support clinical decision making and patient management
  9. Implement and maintain quality assurance and quality improvement measures consistent with IAC requirements
  10. Ensure complete and accurate documentation of studies, including indications, techniques and findings to meet accreditation and compliance standards
  11. Support adherence to lab accreditation standards through proper use, staff competency and ongoing performance evaluation
  12. Assess opportunities to incorporate emerging technologies to improve workflow efficiency and diagnostic performance
