Best Practices in Surgery: A UAB CME Course - two half-day sessions on the latest surgical practices you need to know to advance your practice and provide the best care possible to your patients.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe current evidencebased best practices in surgical technique and perioperative management
  2. Identify recent advances in surgical technology and instrumentation relevant to their specialty.
  3. Apply updated clinical guidelines to improve surgical decisionmaking and patient safety.
  4. Demonstrate appropriate selection and use of new surgical devices and minimally invasive tools.
  5. Evaluate case studies to determine optimal surgical approaches for complex patients.
  6. Apply current data to improve teamwork and communication in the operating room.
  7. Utilize interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance continuity of care across the surgical pathway.
  8. Discuss ethical and professional considerations related to emerging surgical innovations.
  9. Educate peers and trainees on updated surgical techniques and best practices.
  10. Commit to ongoing learning and quality improvement to sustain high standards of surgical care.
